Hello again and Happy Sunday! I’m just lounging around this morning but yesterday I went to Dorothy Perkins.
DP’s can be a mixed bag, some days I love everything, some days I love nothing. But yesterday there were a few pieces that I would have bought if I hadn’t already spent far too much this month. So here they are, my top picks from Dotty P’s.
I saw this tunic as soon as I walked into the store. It was on a hanger and to be honest, I could have looked right past it, but it was also on a mannequin and it looked fantastic! One of those “dead on the hanger but good on” jobs. Very nice detailing around the neck.
I was so close to buying this top that I actually carried it around the shop whilst looking for shoes for the wedding but eventually I put it back, a) because I didn’t have time to try it on and b) realistically I don’t have any money at the moment! But, it really is adorable and DP’s have 20% off this weekend online so I might treat myself… I said “might”! If I do I’ll let you know how I get on.
I think with this number you’ll either love it or hate it. I hate my arms, so balloon sleeves are my friend. I also love ivory/cream, so again it ticks the boxes. What might put you off though is that it has the most amazing feeling arms (the fabric is all swooshy) but the body is like a jersey fabric which just doesn’t feel as luxurious as the arms. Jersey just doesn’t feel special, but this is a special looking top. I’ve added the picture of the “orange” one too because it wasn’t too bad. I would say more rust.
This cardigan is SO soft. Perfect for those of you with long, slim arms and bodies. The arms are wonderfully long and, well… slim. I like a good fitted sleeve on a cardigan, I don’t like it when they go baggy and this is just lovely. It really is as soft as it looks and in the perfect shade of peachy pink. There are a lot of dusty pinks out at the moment and they look just that, dusty. I don’t like it, some of the clothes in DP’s looked like they needed a good wash.
So there you go. I’m sorry that they are all tops but I wanted to blog about things I had actually seen with my eyes instead of just picking off the website and I must have been focussed on tops yesterday! There are just three other things that I want to mention because they stuck in my mind from the last couple of weeks worth of shopping trips…
The blair striped blazer from Monsoon. £65. I could have stood in Monsoon and stared at this for an age. It’s beautiful. It’s the perfect shade of navy and it’s just wonderful. Sadly, in the time I was staring at it, I couldn’t think of one time/place that I would wear it. It would just hang in my wardrobe being neglected. This was designed to be shown off and I hope it finds a good home.
This bag is lovely. It reminds me of the Mulberry bag and it is actually made of leather. My problem with it is the price. It’s £90. It’s from Monsoon, by the way. I can’t find it on the Accessorize website so it looks like it’s actually exclusive to Monsoon, which is odd. If it was say… £70, that would work, but £90 is a lot for a high street bag. I really believe (and trust me, I’m not a cheap skate when it comes to handbags!) that this one has been priced incorrectly and I’m sure Monsoon will see this reflected in their sales.
This jacket is from M&S and the website pictures do not do it justice. The colour is the perfect sunshine yellow, the fabric is soft and amazing and it’s reasonably priced at £69.
That’s it folks. I’m all high streeted out. I hope you have seen something that you like. Happy Sunday!
